"Where
do trees grow toffees and animals talk?...
...only
in Juniper Jungle!"
Juniper Jungle is home to a fun gang of animal critters
including Toby The Turtle
the postman, Jock the croc, Victor Vulture the fireman
and wife Vera, Dr Octopus,
Nurse Hippopotamus, Trevor Tiger, Piff Paff the puffin
Lord Mayor, and Bertie Ball
the policeman. Life in the jungle would be just dreamy
without the unwelcome
attentions of the "Nasties" from Swampland.
They're lead by Menacing Mattress,
a badly sprung old bed with a sore temper. He puts
the Nasty Brothers crows,
Menacing Myna, Fearsome Fluff and Terrible Tyre through
their paces in his
persistant attempts to thwart the Juniper Jungle
folks' fun...
This mad mixture of talking animals, trash and toffee
trees stems from the
equally-mad imagination of comedian Bobby Ball.
Bobby is, of course, one half
of that evergreen variety act Cannon and Ball. Juniper
Jungle first appeared as
as a series of picture books before animated immortality
beckoned...
