Mick Inkpen's best-selling picture book character comes to life here in a
UK-Canadian co-production from Wish Films and 9 Story Entertainment.
Wibbly Pig is a cheeky anthropomorphic piglet who's brimming with
inquisitiveness and enthusiasm and an overriding desire to play and
explore the big world around him. Often he'll team up with his porcine pals
Scruffy Pig, Spotty Pig, Big Pig, Tiny Pig, and the Pig Twins, but he's just
as happy playing make-believe games and learning new skills on his own.
Oh, but Wibbly's never actually on his own, is he? He has one or more of his
three favourite plush toys with him most days (Pigley's his favourite). And then
there's us. That's right. We're friends with Wibbly too, asking him questions
off camera, and taking part in all the fun and games.

    Hey Wibbly!

Yes indeed, there's lots of audience interaction here, right from the start of
each episode, because we usually have to track our piggy pal down. He'll be
hiding somewhere, or obscured, or simply off camera, busying himself with
some playful piggy business or other. Wibbly's quite happy to break the
Fourth Wall in order to converse with us, or to get us to  join in. We play
Hide and Seek with him, and we have lots of fun and games. In the episode
   "Puddle"
the cheeky piggy even goes so far as to gives us a soaking!

Some times Wibbly's worried about the world. Little problems can look
so very big where you're small. But Wibbly's a tenacious fellow, and with a
little encouragement those problems can be easily solved, and worries
    dissolved.

Wibbly Pig and Great Aunt Larlie (Wish Films / 9 Story Entertainment)

    Wibbly's White World

White backgrounds are something of a Mick Inkpen trademark, aren't they?
They're ever-present in all his picture books, and they're in this adaptation too.
Mind you, Wibbly does get to step out of them from time to time, when it rains,
or he takes up residence in one of his fantasy worlds.

    Wibbly Vs Kipper

Mick Inkpen previously brought us lots of cute fun with Kipper the dog. Kipper is a
more methodical character and he plays and explores with a little more hesitancy,
taking his time, finding his way. In his tv adaptation by HIT Entertainment and
Grand Slamm, he was provided with a suitably smooth, jazzy theme and score
which matched his personality beautifully. But Wibbly is a more spontaneous
soul. He skips and plays with abandon, and he's summoned into life by his very
own, and very wonderful, "waah-waah" soundtrack. Are you going to play
with him? - Of course you are!
